Remembering The Interconnectedness of Everything

Interconnected Nature

Nature is interconnected, and we are nature. On a coaching call last night, I shared feelings of guilt and shame about not making money or feeling successful in my business. For me, not making money threatens my sense of independence. My coach asked what independence meant to me, and I described it as being completely self-sufficient—needing nothing outside myself. It’s as if I’m the only one in existence, taking care of everything alone.

Challenging the Idea of Independence

As I explained my view, it struck me as strange. I believe in an interconnected universe. Everything in nature is connected, and as a human being, I am nature. This means I am always interconnected. My coach then asked, “If that’s what you believe, why does it feel shameful?”

Her question reminded me of this truth: I am not alone, nor do I have to be, nor do I want to be. This realization shifted my perspective on independence. I think my history of co-dependency in past relationships has made me fear any form of dependence, but now instead of striving to be independent, I will aim to be interdependent.

Embracing Interdependence

Nothing in existence is 100% self-sufficient. Even the simplest things rely on sunlight, air, or gravity. So why have I clung to a hyper-independent identity? My coach asked how I could be loving to myself in that moment. My answer was simple: remember that I am nature.

Finding Connection in Nature

I love nature. I love life. To me, nature and existence are magnificent and fascinating. So if I am nature, then I can look at myself and see the magnificence in my human existence. Do you ever forget that you are part of nature? May this be your reminder: you are nature, and nature is interconnected. You are never alone.

Let go of the need to do it all alone. Embrace the beauty of interdependence and see the magnificence within yourself. Remember, we are all connected—we are nature.
